City of Coppell receives Keep Texas Beautiful award for green initiatives

The city of Coppell has been selected as the runner up of the 2009 Government Award from Keep Texas Beautiful for the city’s ecoCoppell initiatives.
Keep Texas Beautiful announced the award during the 42nd Annual Keep Texas Beautiful conference June 11in Houston.
“The city of Coppell is continuing to take a leading role in developing environmental initiatives through a systematic and broad-based approach to sustainability,” said Cristal Rollins, community programs coordinator for the city.
The Keep Texas Beautiful Government Award is one of nine categories in the Keep Texas Beautiful Awards.
“It recognizes outstanding contributions by government entities supporting the mission of Keep Texas Beautiful in their local communities,” Rollins said.
The award was first presented in 2001.
